Steal An Egg is the most played Roblox game right now, and it isn’t close. GGAID’s live tracker had it at 1.6M concurrent players when we pulled data on September 30, 2026, roughly five times the 329.6K in second-placed Brookhaven RP. It is also the month’s single biggest mover, up 468.0% from the 281.7K it posted on our August board. A game about stealing eggs from strangers now outdraws Brookhaven RP, Blox Fruits, Murder Mystery 2, and Adopt Me! combined. We’d love to say we saw that coming. We didn’t.
How we built this board
A quick note on method. The board ranks live concurrent players from GGAID’s September 30 snapshot, the tracker used in previous editions, cross-checked against rblxdb the same day. They agree on the leader (rblxdb logged Steal An Egg at 1,629,456) and disagree below it: rblxdb had Ride A Pet third, ahead of Blox Fruits, and gave tenth place to Steal a Brainrot at 101,018, with Jujutsu Shenanigans just behind at 100,107. Counts also swing by the hour, so treat every number as a photograph, not a monthly average. Every game returning from August shows higher lifetime visits than last month.

What moved and why
The climber is Steal An Egg, driven by a new update every Saturday in September, capped by the September 19 “Sammy Is Coming” crossover that RoVitals logged at a peak of 14,272,591 players. (GGAID rounds its count to 1.6M, so the percentage is approximate.) The biggest faller we can measure precisely is Animal Hospital (Anomaly), down 90.2% despite a Second Floor expansion on September 5 and an X2 Coins weekend on September 19. No source points to one trigger, so our read is novelty fade, not neglect. +1 Speed Monkey Escape and Grow a Garden 2 left GGAID’s top 50 with no sourced explanation. In the top 10, Murder Mystery 2 fell furthest, mostly the hangover from its Summer 2026 event ending August 24.
The Incremental Wave: Steal, Hatch, Run
1. Steal An Egg (and Collect Rare Pets): 1.6M concurrent players
Yes, the creator account really is called “and Collect Rare Pets.” Launched on July 25, 2026, it runs a plain loop: steal eggs, hatch them into pets, earn money, train speed on a treadmill, and steal from other players. What keeps people coming back is the weekly heartbeat. Every Saturday brings an Admin Abuse session and a content drop, and September delivered four in a row. Update 5, a crossover with Sammy, the creator of Steal a Brainrot, pushed the game to that 14.27M peak on September 19. According to Max Power Gaming’s reading of Rolimon’s data, only Steal a Brainrot and Grow a Garden have gone higher on Roblox. The full breakdown is in the teardown below.
4. Ride A Pet (this game is gud): 208.0K concurrent players
Another developer name that sounds like a joke. Ride A Pet runs the egg formula with a smart twist: you find eggs scattered around the map, hatch them, then ride what you hatched, and faster mounts reach rarer eggs. Speed is the progression stat and the transport system at the same time, which is a tidy piece of design. The team shipped Update 1 (weather mutations) on September 19 and Update 2 (Volcano Island and a Volcanic Egg that needs a flying pet) on September 26, and Update 3 is already listed on Roblox for October 3. It holds a 97% rating and a 1.4M all-time peak on GGAID, with servers capped at six players.
8. +1 Speed Keyboard Escape (SecretVerse Studio): 137.9K concurrent players
Down 61.5% from August’s 358.0K, yet still rated 97% on 6.2 billion visits. The “+1 Speed” format is as simple as Roblox gets: every step makes you faster, and that speed carries you through an escape course themed, in this case, around candy and chocolate. The hook is that progress is visible every second, on a number that only goes up. SecretVerse Studio also rotates the multiplier tag in the game’s title (it read X10 in rblxdb’s September 13 snapshot and X2 by September 30), which advertises live boosts to anyone scrolling the charts. Our view on the slide: the genre got crowded, and Steal An Egg and Ride A Pet arrived with fresh content every week.
The Social Institutions
2. Brookhaven RP (Brookhaven by Voldex): 329.6K concurrent players
At 88.1 billion visits, Brookhaven is still the most visited experience on Roblox, and it was the only veteran in the top five to grow this month, up 9.3%. It has no objective, and that is the whole idea: it is a town where players invent their own stories. Voldex keeps the town feeling new on a strict weekly schedule, usually on Fridays. September brought a Cooking update on September 4, a Vehicles update on September 11, and a two-week Jurassic World event that opened on September 18 and continued on September 25. Dinosaurs in a sandbox where kids roleplay everything is a natural fit.
5. Murder Mystery 2 (Nikilis): 192.1K concurrent players
Last month’s number one is now fifth, down 64.3%. That isn’t collapse, it’s gravity. MM2’s Summer 2026 event ran from July 24 to August 24, and our August snapshot caught it mid-event. With the event over, the game settled back toward its baseline, which is still higher than almost anything on Roblox for a title released in 2014. The format explains the staying power: short rounds, one murderer, one sheriff, everyone else running, plus a knife and gun cosmetic economy players have traded for years. Watch October closely. MM2 tops rblxdb’s ranking of horror games, and a seasonal event is exactly what pushed it past a million concurrent players this summer.
9. Adopt Me! (Uplift Games): 135.4K concurrent players
Back in the top 10 after missing August’s. Adopt Me! is the original pet-raising and trading game, and its 44.9 billion visits rest on a simple retention trick. Pets grow up through care tasks, and four fully grown pets of the same type combine into a Neon version, then four Neons into a Mega Neon. That turns daily chores into long-term goals and makes every pet a trade asset. Uplift Games has already put its Halloween event on Roblox’s official calendar for October 3, according to rblxdb’s event tracker. This game’s player count has historically jumped hard around major updates, so expect a bump right as this edition goes live.
Combat, Survival, and the Long Grind
3. Blox Fruits (Gamer Robot Inc): 245.2K concurrent players
Down just 3.8% on August, which is a good month for a game this old. Blox Fruits is an anime action RPG: eat a fruit, gain its powers, and grind across seas of increasingly brutal bosses. Its long-term glue is the fruit economy. Rare fruits can be traded, bought, or found, so the market always has something to chase. The game’s title carried a magnet tag in early September, and community trackers tie that to a September 5 update that added a Magnet fruit and reworked the First Sea. A confirmed Fourth Sea for December 2026 gives veterans a reason to keep leveling now.
6. RIVALS (Nosniy Games): 151.4K concurrent players
Down 6.1%, which counts as holding firm in a month when six of the seven returning top-10 games lost players. RIVALS is Roblox’s biggest competitive shooter, built around short duel matches rather than long rounds, so a session can last two minutes or two hours. That flexibility is underrated. The retention engine is the loadout: players unlock weapons and collect cosmetic skins for them, and a strong cosmetic layer lets the meta shift without anyone feeling their purchases were wasted. At 94% on 18.4 billion visits, it also has one of the highest approval ratings on this board, a sign the competitive design lands with a famously picky crowd.
7. 99 Nights in the Forest (Grandma’s Favourite Games): 146.9K concurrent players
Down 3.4%, steady as ever. It’s co-op survival horror: keep the campfire lit, gather wood and food, and survive with your group while something in the trees hunts you. Its signature is a clear finish line. Ninety-nine nights gives every session a place inside a larger run, which most survival games never manage. Grandma’s Favourite Games returned to regular content in June with a promise of an update roughly every two weeks, and it runs a weekly Update Party that rewards players simply for showing up. September’s update window opened on September 6. Players log in for the party, then stay for whatever is new.
10. Jujutsu Shenanigans (Tze’s Shenanigans): 117.2K concurrent players
New to our top 10. Jujutsu Shenanigans is an anime battlegrounds fighter with destructible arenas, a deep combo system, and a roster that keeps growing. The Sky Assassin update (V1.82) on September 5 added its 24th fighter, sold as an Early Access character through a 300 Robux game pass, alongside a new ultimate for an existing character and 13 emotes. That Early Access label is worth studying. Paying players get the new fighter first, the roster keeps expanding, and nobody’s existing characters lose value. Its Build Mode and Skill Builder keep creative players busy between balance patches, and between clips.
New This Month
Ride A Pet (this game is gud): 208.0K concurrent players
The biggest newcomer on the board, landing at number four on GGAID and number three on rblxdb. Its full entry is above, along with the pet-riding loop that got it there.
Slayers 2 (Ouw Productions): 115.1K concurrent players
The sequel to Project Slayers, a Demon Slayer-inspired RPG that built roughly 678 million visits, according to Pro Game Guides. Slayers 2 launched publicly on September 18 after a week of early access, letting players choose a Slayer path with breathing styles or a Demon path with blood arts. It peaked at 237.2K on GGAID with a 98% rating from over 900K votes. Why it caught on: years of teasers built a waiting community, and launch codes required joining the Ouw Productions group, turning hype into a reachable audience. GGAID shows it cooling 45% over eight days, a normal post-launch curve.
Anime Dice (More & More Games): 75.8K concurrent players
Released on August 15, Anime Dice mixes anime characters, luck-based rolls, and idle income. You roll dice to pull anime-inspired units, place them on your plot to earn money, then upgrade your dice. It holds a 99% rating on GGAID. Why it caught on: an update every Saturday, which had it on Update 6 by month’s end. For a game this young, that cadence is the marketing.
Just Missed the Cut
Positions 11 to 16 on GGAID’s board were Slayers 2 (Ouw Productions) at 115.1K, Steal a Brainrot (BRAZILIAN SPYDER) at 107.9K, Anime Dice (More & More Games) at 75.8K, Fish It! (Fish Atelier) at 75.4K, Fisch (Fisching) at 73.8K, and Violence District (VIOLENCE DISTRICT) at 67.5K. Steal a Brainrot actually took tenth on rblxdb’s snapshot. Three August top-10 games fell out of the board: Animal Hospital (Anomaly) landed at 32nd with 35.3K, while +1 Speed Monkey Escape and Grow a Garden 2 slipped below GGAID’s top 50, which ended at 21.0K.
Developer Teardown: Steal An Egg
We picked the number one game over the biggest newcomer because Steal An Egg has far more on the public record.
The Core Loop
Every 30 seconds: sprint into a biome, grab an egg, and outrun its guardian home, or raid another player’s base. Servers hold only seven players, per GGAID, so every theft is personal. Every 5 minutes: drop eggs into your pen, wait out hatch timers, collect money from your pets, and spend it on treadmill and base upgrades to train enough Speed for the next biome. The gates are steep: the Angels vs Demons biome needs 20 billion Speed. Every day: that biome rolls into an Angels, Demons, or rare Merged version each night, rifts with boss fights open every 30 minutes, and every Saturday brings Admin Abuse with boosted spawns and luck.
How It Earns Money
The visible monetization is lean. The public store lists two game passes: X2 Money at 399 Robux and X2 Growth Speed at 467 Robux, as checked on September 5. Some guides quote lower prices, likely regional pricing. Community wikis also report timer-skipping developer products, roughly 9 Robux per egg for Instant Hatch and about 160 Robux for Grow All Eggs, plus a premium egg in the Robux shop (the Monster Egg, later the Luminous Egg). Update 4 added game pass gifting. There is no VIP or auto-hatch pass, whatever some fan sites claim. We won’t estimate revenue, and you should be wary of anyone who does.
Update Rhythm
The public history reads like a metronome. Launch on July 25. Cherry Blossom around August 22. On August 24 the game briefly went offline; GamesRadar reported that Roblox then said it would no longer host experiences that reward watching a continuous feed of content, and the game returned without its treadmill video feed. Titan Temple on August 29. Rifts on September 5. Angels vs Demons on September 12. “Sammy Is Coming” on September 19. Next, Roblox’s event listing shows The Enchanted Forest biome from October 3 to 5.
What It Would Take to Build a Game Like This
Estimate for a comparable game
A comparable experience sits in the mid-sized band, with a real economy and a live content pipeline: typically $25,000 to $75,000. Plan on two Luau (Roblox’s Lua dialect) scripters, one on gameplay and one on data, economy, and anti-exploit work, plus a 3D artist for pets and biomes, a UI artist, and a part-time designer owning balance and QA. Expect roughly 10 to 14 weeks to a launch-ready build with three or four biomes. The weekly cadence is a separate, recurring cost, and the part most teams underbudget. This is our estimate for a comparable game, not Steal An Egg’s actual budget, which is not public.
What September 2026 Roblox Trends Mean for Game Developers
Saturday is the new launch day
Steal An Egg and Anime Dice update every Saturday, Ride A Pet scheduled its next update for one, and Brookhaven ships nearly every Friday. The games climbing the chart have turned weekends into appointments. The implication: before launch, decide how many weekly beats your team can sustain for six months and price them in. A sound full-cycle game development plan budgets LiveOps as a line item from day one, not a surprise after release.
Halloween is already on the calendar
rblxdb’s event tracker shows Adopt Me! starting Halloween on October 3, Steal a Brainrot’s Haunted Fuse from October 3 to 7, Dress To Impress from October 10, and Fisch’s FischFright 3 from October 17 to November 9. As of September 28, Roblox hadn’t announced a platform-wide Halloween event; last year’s Spotlight ran October 23 to November 3, 2025. The implication: if seasonal content isn’t in testing now, aim for mid-October, and keep it modular enough to plug into a platform event announced late.
Speed is the universal progression stat
Steal An Egg, Ride A Pet, and both +1 Speed games make one climbing number the center of everything. It reads instantly, needs no tutorial, and gates content without feeling like a wall. The catch is that copies arrive fast, and Monkey Escape’s slide shows how quickly a speed game fades. The implication: one number can carry onboarding, but second and third systems like pets, mutations, and biomes keep players past week two.
Platform policy is a design input
Steal An Egg was briefly pulled over a treadmill feature showing a scrolling video feed, and Roblox drew a public line afterward. It survived because the feature could be cut in hours. The implication: check every retention mechanic against Roblox’s standards before launch, and never build your core loop on something the platform could ban next month.
